Day 1

Your group will arrive in Savannah, home of the beautiful coastal empire! You will meet your Joshua Expeditions guide at the airport then transfer to the hotel where you will take time for a brief orientation. Your group will spend the rest of the day getting a feel for this beautiful city by visiting such sites as City Market and River Street. It is also possible to take a guided tour of the city if your group chooses. At dinner you will enjoy southern cooking at its finest then return to the hotel for devotions and discussion of the week’s art exercises.

Day 2

The morning will be spent touring Savannah College of Art and Design, the country’s largest art school whose students are on the cutting edge of the industries. You may even be able to sit in on a class or meet with professors and students. Following lunch you will spend the afternoon in Forsyth Park and on beautiful Bull Street, which is lined with historic homes. This time will be set aside for you to draw, paint or sketch. Dinner and devotions in the evening will close out the day.

Day 3

Today your group will take a day trip to Tybee Island and Isle of Hope. As you take in this beautiful low country you will be given time to create in your chosen medium. Later, you will enjoy lunch on the beach before returning to Savannah for the afternoon. On the way back, the group will stop at the famous Bonaventure Cemetery then head to Broughton Street for an afternoon of shopping. The day will conclude with dinner and devotions.

Day 4

On this last morning in Savannah you will visit the Telfair Museum which houses works from all over America, Europe and Asia, dating between the 18th to 20th centuries. After lunch it will be time to return home after a wonderful week of exploring the Deep South and expressing your creative talents!
