Day 1: Departure
Board your overnight flight to Budapest!
Day 2: Orientation
You will meet your Joshua Expeditions guide in the airport then board a private coach and spend the day in Budapest! Experience this beautiful city by heading over to the Castle District for a walking tour and lunch, then venture up to St. Gellert Hill for a bird’s eye view of one of Europe’s grandest cities. Other sites during the day will include St. Stephen’s Basilica, Hero’s Square, Parliament Building and much more! The group will spend the evening at Word of Life Bible Camp, located outside the city.
Day 3: Your Experience
After breakfast, you will board the coach and cross the border into Romania. Once you arrive in Lugoj, you’ll meet your missionaries and settle into your home stays (depending on the size of the group this may also be in one building or hotel). You will have time to freshen up before beginning your immersion into the Romania culture as you meet and fellowship with the church believers. Your day will end with devotions before lights out.
Day 4
Your group will be assigned to a specific project before you even begin your experience overseas. These days will be pre-planned and very efficient so that the group may complete their project. Work days may include the following: bricklaying, cement mixing, carpentry, cleaning, and painting. In the midst of this project, your group also has the option of doing an evangelistic outreach within the community, hold prayer walks in the community, or visit orphanages to share the love of Christ to the Romanian children. Each night you will stay with your Romanian host family (or in the same building as a group) and experience the culture of the Romanian people and your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Day 5
Today is a work day. Your group may also have opportunities for outreach within the community. The day will close at your Romanian home.
Day 6
Your mission work continues today. The group will have opportunities to interact with their Romanian brothers and sisters in Christ while reaching out to the community. You’ll end your day at the home your host family (or group accommodation).
Day 7
You will want to take every opportunity to soak up the Romanian culture as you complete your final work day and have your last evangelistic opportunities within the community. You will also stay in your Romanian home for one last night.
Day 8: Return to Budapest
After breakfast, you’ll board the private coach to return to the Word of Life Bible Camp for dinner and an evening bonfire.
Day 9: Departure
After 8 amazing days of serving the city of Lugoj, you’ll head back home to the US!
