Day 1
Your group will arrive in Music City! After checking into your hotel, you will meet with your Joshua Expeditions guide for an orientation and information session then spend the afternoon touring the city. You will see such sites as Broadway and the Riverfront, Schermerhorn Symphony Center and the Ryman Auditorium, the original Grand Ole Opry. You will have also have time to shop and explore downtown. In the afternoon, you will stop into the famous Hatch Show Print to see where original music posters have been made for almost a century! Dinner and devotions in the evening will round out the day.
Day 2
You will spend this morning touring the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, where you will learn about the history of music and its influence on today’s culture. Later, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in Historic RCA’s Studio B Words and Music Program. Here students will learn about Studio B's historical significance, studio design and the three basic phases of recording: tracking, mixing, and mastering. You will explore the various roles involved in these processes and learn about the science of sound as you participate in the mixing of a recording. The day will conclude with dinner and devotions in the evening.
Other programs may also be offered, and all are subject to availability. You will want to talk to your coordinator about your group’s options.
Day 3
This morning you will visit the Grand Ole Opry and the beautiful Opryland Hotel. In the afternoon, the group may be able to visit Curb College of Music Entertainment and Business at Belmont University. After sampling some of Nashville’s best home cookin’ for dinner, the group will attend a local songwriter showcase before returning to the hotel for devotions.
Day 4
Today you will enjoy a day trip to Franklin, home to many of Nashville’s musicians and artists. You will see just why they are drawn to this beautiful charming town as you take the afternoon to enjoy shopping down what has been named America’s best Main Street. Later, you will share in the experience of working in the music industry as you meet with a local recording studio or professional producer, songwriter, session musician, recording artist or record label. Dinner and devotions will close out the evening.
Day 5
After a wonderful music-filled week, it will be time to return home!
