Day 1

Depart and fly to Munich.

Day 2

Your Joshua Expeditions guide will meet you at the airport in Munich the travel with you on a private coach as you begin the journey through the heart of Bavaria on your way to Mittersill, Austria. Once in Mittersill, you will get settled in your castle accommodations and then head out to explore with your friends all the nooks and crannies of this castle that has existed for centuries. You will enjoy dinner at the castle and then have devotions together as a group before getting a good night’s sleep.

Day 3

Following a breakfast buffet, the group will take off to enjoy a day of skiing in Kitzbühl, home of the skiing world championships! If there is snow anywhere in Europe, there will be great snow in this location, considered some of the finest mountains of Austria. After a full day of skiing, you will return to the castle to unwind before dinner. In the evening you can enjoy the oversized fireplace or take the opportunity to gaze at the beauty that lies around the castle and its surrounding mountains.

Day 4

This morning the group will head out to enjoy more of the best skiing in Europe. At the end of the day you will return your ski equipment and get back to the castle to relax for a while. The group will have dinner down in Mittersill and then return to the castle for devotions and a time of discussion.

Day 5

Following breakfast the group will take the day to engage with the Austrian community of Mittersill and partner with the church there for some missions work. Your ministry may include light construction, cleaning, or just interacting with the people of Mittersill. There will also be some time to tour Mittersill and learn more about the town and the people who live there.

Day 6

This morning you will enjoy a day trip to Salzburg, home of Mozart! A walking tour of this charming village will take you to Mozart’s Birthplace, Mirabell Gardens, Domplatz and Hohensalzburg Fortress. You will be able to enjoy lunch on your own and take some free time to shop along the famous Getreidegasse. The group will travel back to Mittersill in the evening for dinner and devotions.

Day 7

After your final breakfast at the castle, the group will head back to Munich to explore the downtown area. You will see such sites as the Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt and Hofbräuhaus, and the group will take time to reflect on God’s creation and what people have done to it throughout history. You will walk to dinner from the hotel and then have a final time of devotions and discussion.

Day 8

After experiencing some of the most beautiful places in the world, you will journey home.
