Day 1
Depart your home city for Washington, D.C. Be sure to wear your Joshua Expeditions t-shirt! You will be met at the airport by your JE representative, and your first stop will be the Smithsonian museum of your choice. The group can either go to one museum or divide up among several museums. Afterward, the group will head over to the National Archives to see some of the most important documents in U.S. history, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. In the evening, the group will have dinner in a local restaurant and then take a walking tour around the mall of the Washington, Jefferson and F. Roosevelt memorials. After checking into the hotel at the end of the day, there will be a time for devotions before lights out.
Day 2
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. During the morning, you will enjoy an exterior visit to the White House, Lafayette Square and the Department of the Treasury. While there, you will have time for photos and shopping with the local street vendors. Lunch will be in the city today, followed by an afternoon visit to the Capitol Building and a walk over to the Supreme Court. (Optional tours must be arranged through a member of Congress.) You’ll have dinner in the city and then take a walking tour of the war memorials for World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Your evening will end with devotions at the hotel before you turn in.
Day 3
Breakfast will be served at the hotel, followed by check-out. The group will begin the day with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and witness the spectacle of the changing of the guard ceremony.
