Day 1
Your group will board an overnight flight to Germany.
Day 2
Your Joshua Expeditions guide will meet you at the airport in Munich, and your group will dive right into German culture as you explore this largest city in Bavaria. You will visit the Marienplatz, home of the Glokenspiel, and see such famous sites as the Hofbräuhaus and the Viktualienmarkt, a great place to interact and practice speaking in German. During the afternoon, your group will visit Dachau Concentration Camp, and then continue south for a night in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Each day will conclude with a group devotion time connecting sites you see during the day with biblical truths and life application.
Day 3
This morning your group will head over to the stadium used for the 1936 Winter Olympic Games, and then you will continue deep into the Partnachklamm (Partnach Gorge) from there. In the afternoon you will continue along the famous Romantic Road to the area around Füssen, where you will visit the spectacular Neuschwanstein Castle built by Mad King Ludwig. Your group will return to the hotel in the evening for shared devotions.
Day 4
Today you will travel up to the Zugspitze Mountain, Germany's highest peak! The group will ride a cogwheel train up and a cable car down, and you will need to need to navigate your way around, reading signs and ordering all of your food using your German language skills. You will enjoy the breathtaking views from the top of the world and then take a hike around scenic Lake Eibsee. Hiking, mountain biking, and other activities are available. (Fees for optional activities are not included in the price of the trip.)
Day 5
The group will spend the day delving into the enchanted southwestern region of Germany called the Black Forest. Several quaint towns lace this area, all of which are rich in cultural traditions like handmade cuckoo clocks, natural honey and fairy tales. You will also visit the Black Forest Academy, an international Christian school, where you will have a chance to interact with students and possibly even minister to the school. The day will conclude with dinner and devotions.
Day 6
Today you will discover one of Germany's most beautiful towns, Heidelberg, known for centuries as a great political center. Your group will walk the city, communicate with locals using the German skills you have learned, and experience the ambiance of this historical center. Your group will also visit the Heidelberg Castle, which towers over the city, and in the evening you may even have a chance to catch a movie in German. Your day will close with one final night of devotions.
Day 7
After this once-in-a-lifetime experience, you will say "Auf Wiedersehen" and fly back home!
