Day 1

Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica, and meet your Joshua Expeditions guide once you pass through customs and immigration. You will transfer by bus to the hotel, then have a bit of time to freshen up and, if time permits, maybe even shop at a traditional Costa Rican market in downtown San Jose. Following dinner you will return to the hotel for devotions and a chance to share the day’s experiences.

Day 2

This will be a day of unforgettable white water rafting! The Pacuare River provides an adventurous ride filled with stunning beauty along the entire length of its turning, twisting rapids. The river runs from the country's highest mountain range to the coastal lowlands of the Atlantic, and it is a safe, but very exciting experience!

Day 3

After breakfast, the group will travel to Fortuna and Mt. Arenal, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. You will make a stop along the way in Zarcero for a visit to a church with some very unique landscaping then proceed to the rainforest for a hike down to a spectacular waterfall. In the evening, the group will enjoy the natural hot springs at the foot of the volcano, and if it is a clear night, you will also get to see the mighty fireworks of Arenal!

Day 4

This morning you will soar through the jungle canopy on a zip line tour. You might even want to try out the Tarzan swing! In the afternoon your group will relax as they float down the Peñas Blancas River. You will want to keep your eyes open so you can see the crocodiles, sloths, monkeys and other insects and animals that dwell in the rainforest.

Day 5

Following an early breakfast your group will head out for the day to Punta Leona on the Pacific Coast, where you will enjoy the surf of the white sand beach. Following dinner n the evening, you will be able to enjoy some optional activities in the area. (Fees for optional activities are not included in the price of the trip).

Day 6

Early this morning you will enjoy a pre-breakfast hike through the rainforest to get the day off to a unique beginning. The group will then head back to the beach where you can participate in optional activities like snorkeling kayaking. (Fees for optional activities are not included in the price of the trip, and snorkeling equipment should be brought from home.) Following lunch by the pool, the group will return to San Jose, stopping along the way for a little shopping in the mountain town of Sarchi. Known for its artisans and handicrafts, you will enjoy browsing the marketplace for unusual treasures. The day will close with dinner and devotions at the hotel.

Day 7

Today you will visit a community of men, women and children whose needs are both physical and spiritual. Along with light construction there are ample opportunities for community projects and evangelistic outreach. At the end of the day you will return to the hotel to share your experiences in a time of devotion.

Day 8

Your group will continue its service to the local community today. You may have opportunity for children's clubs, youth ministries, and even Christian concerts.

Day 9

On your final day in Costa Rica you will enjoy a full day of fun as the group heads out for a Catamaran cruise to the white sandy island of Tortuga. You will have great food, lots of activities and a whole lot of sun! The day will close back at your hotel with a final evening of devotions.

Day 10

Head home after an amazing trip to Costa Rica!
