Day 1

Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica, and meet your Joshua Expeditions guide once you pass through customs and immigration. You will transfer by bus to the hotel, then have a bit of time to freshen up and, if time permits, maybe even shop at a traditional Costa Rican market in downtown San Jose. Following dinner you will return to the hotel for devotions and a chance to share the day’s experiences.

Day 2

Today the group will begin its mission experience in the local community. Both the physical and spiritual needs are great in the region, and you will be personally challenged during the project to share your faith through word and deed. Over the next three days you will have ample opportunities to join with local organizations to serve through community projects and evangelistic outreach.

Day 3

You may have opportunity today to assist a local organization with light construction work or volunteer in one of their outreach programs. Every task offers a chance for evangelism as you serve the community with the love of Christ.

Day 4

On this final day of ministry you may find yourself presenting children's clubs or working with the local youth. There may also be opportunities to present Christian concerts. Maximize the talents of your group and make the most of this mission experience.

Day 5

This morning the group will travel to Fortuna and Mt. Arenal, one of the world's most active volcanoes. On the way, you will stop by Zarcero for a visit to a church with some very unique landscaping. Later, while in the rainforest, you will hike down to a spectacular waterfall and in the evening enjoy the natural hot springs at the foot of the volcano. If it is a clear night, you may even get to see the mighty fireworks of Arenal!

Day 6

Today the group will head out on a jungle zip line excursion! This is an experience you will never forget! Following lunch, you will travel back to San Jose by way of the small town of Sarchi. In the marketplace here, you will see painted ox carts – the symbol of Costa Rica – and have some time for shopping among the traditional artisan crafts. You will also have the opportunity to sample Costa Rican coffee and bring some home if you like! This final evening will close with dinner and devotions at your hotel in San Jose.

Day 7

Head home after an amazing trip to Costa Rica!
