Day 1
Your group will arrive in the Florida Keys and gather together for a time of introduction and prayer for the days ahead. Designed to provide a free camp for children of migrant workers in south Florida, Camp Caleb offers the children opportunities to experience education as never before. Your days will be filled with fun-filled activities and chances to interact closely with the children. After settling in, the remainder of this day will be spent in preparation, planning and setup before your group gathers together for a team devotion to close the day.
Day 2
Following breakfast and morning devotions, your group will make final preparations for the arrival of the children who will participate in the day's activities. A rotation schedule will allow all children to participate in all tasks, and then the afternoon will bring a special time of water fun. Many of the children have never seen the ocean, so this experience will be enjoyable for all! The children will return to their school in the afternoon, and the remainder of the day will be spent in clean-up and debrief. Your group will enjoy special activities in the evening, and then conclude the day with dinner and a time of worship.
Day 3
Over the next two days, your group will host younger children, beginning again with an opening rally to set the mood. Morning activities will allow the children to rotate between arts and crafts and Bible story projects, while the afternoon will offer field games like slip n' slide, water balloon toss, soccer, and even a Music Jamboree! The children will return to their school in late afternoon, and you will have some time to relax and share experiences.
Day 4
The younger children will return today for a morning of hands-on activities and an afternoon of water fun. The day will move quickly but your experiences will linger in your heart. After bidding goodbye to the children in the late afternoon, your group will spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the next two days of ministry.
Day 5
The older children will arrive this morning for the first of two camp days. The activities will be more advanced but will provide quality educational experiences for these children who often have little opportunity in life. Following an opening rally, the kids will rotate between various field games and educational activities before sharing lunch together. The afternoon will allow for all sorts of beach fun, including a chance to feed the tarpon in the ocean. After the children return to their school in the late afternoon, your group will be able to settle in for a relaxing evening and a time of devotion and worship.
Day 6
This final day of ministry with these special children will include a morning rally, field games, educational activities and more beach fun. The Florida Keys are an ideal location to show children how all marine life was created for a reason and that they were created for divine purpose, as well. Your interaction with the children will impact them for the rest of their lives, and the blessings of this week will last much longer than these few days. Though it will be hard for everyone to watch the children return to their school at the end of the day, your group will wind down by spending time in clean-up before departing for home in the late afternoon.
