Day 1
You will meet your Joshua Expeditions guide at the airport in Boston and then transfer to your hotel for a brief orientation. Afterward, the group will take a walking tour of Back Bay where you will see a host of historical sites including Trinity Church, Beacon Hill, Newbury Street, Bunker Hill, Faneuil Hall and Harvard Square. After dinner, the group will visit the Prudential Center skywalk for an all-around view of Boston including Fenway Park and the Old North Church. The day will close with devotions and group discussion to reflect on all that you have seen throughout the day.
Day 2
This morning your group will follow the Freedom Trail and visit such sites as Old State House, Boston Commons, Old North Church, Old Granary Burying Ground, Tea Party Ship, Paul Revere House and USS Constitution. In the afternoon, you will travel to Lexington and Concord to visit Lexington Battle Green, Old North Bridge, Author’s Row and Walden Pond, as well as the famous homes of such authors as Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Dinner will take you back to the city, and devotions will conclude the day.
Day 3
Your morning will include service ministry with a local mission group where you will spend some time giving back to the communities of Boston. Following lunch, the group will spend the afternoon at either the Museum of Science or the New England Aquarium. Dinner and evening devotions will round out the day.
Day 4
Today you will enjoy the historical attractions at Plymouth Harbor. There will be views of Plymouth Rock, the historic districts, the waterfront area and a replica of the Mayflower, and you will have a chance to wander through a re-creation of a 1627 Pilgrim village. In the afternoon you will have free time to explore Plymouth and do a little shopping, then you will enjoy dinner in the Plymouth area, a site for great seafood. At the close of this busy day, the group will return to the hotel for devotions and a time to reflect on the past few days.
Day 5
Following breakfast and morning check-out, the group will head over to the John F. Kennedy Museum, dedicated to the 35th president of the U.S. who led the nation through the Cuban missile crisis but met his tragic death in Dallas at the hands of Lee Harvey Oswald. In the afternoon you will have a chance for shopping before the group heads to the airport for the flight home.
