Day 1

Board your overnight flight to Munich!

Day 2

Your Joshua Expeditions guide will meet you at Munich airport and set out with you to travel south to the picturesque Alps on the German/Austrian border. Garmisch-Partenkirchen was a site of the 1936 Winter Olympic Games, and you will depart from there to take an incredible hike up Partnachklamm (Partnach Gorge). That evening, you will enjoy a traditional dinner with Bavarian music and dancing.

Day 3

This day is set aside for outdoor activities in the Garmisch region of the Alps. The group will travel by cogwheel train up to the top of the Alps then ride a cable car back down this steepest slope in Europe.* Those desiring to ski may do so (equipment rental fees not included), and there will be ample opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views from the top of the world or take a hike around scenic Lake Eibsee. At the close of the day you will return to the hotel for devotions.

All activities are weather permitting and dependent on availability.

Day 4

The group will travel across the Dolomite Mountains into northern Italy today, en route to the intriguing city of Rome. There may be some time in the evening to explore the city, including the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, before heading to the hotel for a time of devotion.

Day 5

Today the group will travel to Vatican City and visit the Sistine Chapel, home of Michelangelo's Last Judgment and other masterful works. A highlight of your day will be touring the Vatican Museum and St Peter's Basilica, where the group will discuss Catholicism and its impact on Christianity. Your day will conclude with devotions at the hotel in Rome.

Day 6

On this final day you will have a chance to explore the Eternal City of Rome! You will see the 2000-year-old Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, and Mamertine Prison, the traditional site of St Paul's imprisonment while in Rome. There will also be time to visit the Pantheon as well as other popular sites around the city.

Day 7

Return home after an amazing week in Europe!
